Was paid in cash; can I file taxes?

Plan ahead if you do not have proof of your 2018 income
Plan ahead and see the results. You may surprise yourself.

Can I file taxes if I was paid in cash and don’t have proof or a form from the person I was working for?

The short answer: no.

Every accountant or tax consultant has the obligation to support your income by gathering documents from you.

Then, what can you do?

If you have not tracked your income in any shape or form during 2018, the best thing to do is to plan for 2019.

If your income is in – cash, checks, money orders – from different jobs, then you can make regular deposits to a bank account and use those bank statements to file taxes.

What other documents can you use to support your income? Keep track of your:

  • Invoices
  • Sale slips
  • bank statements
  • copy of check/s you have deposited
  • receipts from daily business expenses

Create a plan, take action, shape your future.

Create your journey,

Jonie
